Offered is a 19th century theorem on velvet with an unusual composition of fruit that seems to hang in the air and a knife to cut them. The center arrangement includes a pineapple, peaches, lemon, 2 fig halves and the knife. The border of grape clusters and their leaves gives a wonderful finishing touch. This lovely theorem on velvet will enhance any current theorem collection or stand alone as the beginning of a collection. Housed in a period lemon gold frame (this is a common name for these early 19th century frames that were gilded with a toned silver leaf). Framed size is 18 ½” x 13” with a sight size of 15 ½” x 11 ¾”. Condition is very good with expected browning to the velvet especially around the edges.
