Delightful painted tinware (sometimes called toleware) 19th century chamberstick in great old yellow with green and black decoration. It even has its own witches hat snuffer that fits into a slot on the side of the candle holder. The paint is old and it appears to be the first coat of paint but the lack of wear on the bottom leads me to believe the paint is not as old as the circa 1850 chamberstick. It features an adjusting lift which is unusual for a short candlestick like this. Very good condition with some expected paint losses and a little old wax dripping. 7 5/8” at widest x 5 1/2" tall.
