Here’s a great little gift for someone special in your life! A 19th century Scherenschnitte (scissor-cutting) of an winged angel with a bird perched on her finger. The angel and bird have additional detail added to the face, wings, hair and feathers by embossing with a stylus. The foliate background has a few tiny bends and there is a small black stain on one of the angel’s legs, but the piece is near perfect. Mounted on a later black paper background and house in an antique veneered wood frame that measures 5 ½” x 4 ¾”. The oval cutting inside measures about 2” x 1 ¾”. The frame is late 19th century….the frame is about the same period but may be as late as early 20th century.
