Sweet naïve watercolor of a young girl wearing a short-sleeved pink dress and holding a basket filled with red and yellow roses. She also wears a coral bead necklace as was often done to ward away evil (a/k/a good luck). Love her strawberry-blond hair with those tight curls framing her heart-shaped face and those pale blue eyes. She resides in a period rosewood frame with a gilt liner that has had a few bumps and bruises. The rosewood frame is in very good shape and appears to be solid wood instead of veneer. Framed size is 6 3/8” x 7 3/8”. Circa 1825.
