Lovely little painted silhouette (not cut) of a young child of about 2 years old seated on a upholstered footstool (or cricket) with turned lets.  The gold embellishment is stunning and the profile is also beautifully enhanced with gum arabic highlights.  The child wears a waisted gown with low neckline edged in lace and short puffed sleeves.  Her wavy hair comes just to the nape of her neck.  There are a few marks on the background card, but the scratches that look like they are on the profile itself are actually in the glass.  The camera flash has enhanced the glass scratches immensely....you won't notice them in person.  The 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" papier mâché frame is in very fine condition.  You know these well-done children are always desirable....don't hesitate or it will be gone.
